NVIDIA and SSI Plan a Major Vera Rubin Compute Expansion

Safe Superintelligence Inc. and NVIDIA announced a long-term partnership on July 27. SSI will gain access to NVIDIA Vera Rubin systems, which the companies said will increase SSI's available compute by an order of magnitude.

HPE Joins the Open Secure AI Alliance

HPE joined the Open Secure AI Alliance as a founding member on July 27. The initiative brings together infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity and software companies to develop open tools for AI safety and cyber defense.

HPE highlighted open-weight models, agent harnesses and SPIFFE/SPIRE identity technology. The objective is to cryptographically verify AI agents and services and restrict communications to authorized workloads.

Intel Details Foveros and EMIB Packaging for Larger AI Chips

Intel described how its New Mexico facilities are using Foveros stacking and EMIB silicon bridges to combine specialized chiplets into larger packages for AI and data center systems.

Intel said its current packaging technology can scale packages to eight times the standard reticle limit, with a target of more than twelve times by 2028. The approach allows chiplets from different designs and process nodes to operate as one system.

SK hynix Starts HBM4 Mass Shipments and Expands Advanced NAND

SK hynix reported on July 29 that it began HBM4 mass shipments during the second quarter and plans to increase production in the second half of 2026. The company said the product reached customer-required operating speeds while improving power efficiency and cost competitiveness.

The same update said SOCAMM2 sales increased and shipments using the company's sixth-generation 10nm-class process began in volume. SK hynix also said 321-layer NAND represents its largest production share and is targeted to reach about half of domestic capacity by year-end.

Arm Reports Stronger AI Data Center Adoption

Arm's July 29 platform update said NVIDIA Vera had entered production and that initial Arm AGI CPU products had been delivered to multiple customers. Arm also reported stronger-than-expected demand for the AGI CPU.

The company cited broader deployment of Arm-based infrastructure through Google Axion, AWS Graviton5 and Microsoft Azure Cobalt 200. Arm said Neoverse-based shipments have surpassed 1.5 billion cores.

Arista Issues Critical VeloCloud Orchestrator Security Advisories

Arista published two VeloCloud Orchestrator advisories on July 27. CVE-2026-16812 is an unauthenticated command-injection issue affecting on-premises VCO and carries a CVSS 3.1 score of 10.0.

A second advisory covers SQL injection and server-side request forgery issues tracked as CVE-2026-17191 and CVE-2026-17192. Administrators should review the affected-version guidance and apply the specified updates or mitigations.
