As a renowned electronic product manufacturer in the United States, a U.S.-based electronics manufacturer covers multiple sectors including automotive, medical, aerospace, and defense.
With the continuous expansion of the company's scale and the surge in data volume, there was an urgent need for higher network speed and bandwidth to support high-density data transmission and enhance network stability, ensuring smooth production processes.
To address these issues, a U.S.-based electronics manufacturer collaborated with Network-Switch.com (NS) and employed RG-S6120-20XS4VS2QXS and RG-S2910-48GT6XS-PoE switches to upgrade the existing 1G network to 10G.

Challenges
As an advanced electronic product manufacturer, the client company was rapidly developing in business and gradually expanding its scale. However, this growth brought multiple network and business challenges.
The primary challenge was that the existing 1G network could no longer meet the operation demands of more than 400 devices, which made it impossible to effectively guarantee production efficiency.
Secondly, the equipment was dispersed across multiple cabinets, making it difficult to oversee and maintain the network on time. In this case, network stability was extremely poor, frequently affecting the normal operation of the systems.
Therefore, there was an urgent need for a high-speed and reliable network infrastructure to address these challenges and adequately prepare for future business growth. Furthermore, since this was the first cooperation, the customer had doubts about the reliability of NS’s solutions and equipment.
Solutions
The entire campus network was divided into three zones: Factory-Rear Patch Panel, Factory-Mid Patch Panel, and Computer Room. This divided various types of network traffic into separate zones, helping reduce network congestion and latency.
It also simplified overall network management and improved the performance of critical applications. As the business grew, this setup allowed each network zone to flexibly expand without affecting the operation of other areas.
The Factory-Rear Patch Panel and Factory-Mid Patch Panel, serving as the access layer, used RG-S2910-48GT6XS-PoE switches to aggregate network traffic to the aggregation layer.
This layered network reduced the number of transmission links, simplified network management and fault isolation, minimized the risk of single points of failure, and enhanced scalability.
As the network management zone, the Computer Room used RG-S6120-20XS4VS2QXS switches for the aggregation layer. The switch featured multiple 1G/10G SFP+ ports, high-speed 25G uplinks, and 40G QSFP+ uplink ports for backbone transmission.
In addition, technicians stacked two RG-S6120-20XS4VS2QXS switches into a logical unit for device-level redundancy. By using LACP technology to bundle multiple physical links, they achieved link-level redundancy.
This way, even if a switch or link failed, network traffic could continue through other healthy devices and links, reducing the risk of network interruption and ensuring business continuity.
For effective management, NS provided the Ruijie Cloud management platform for free to remotely deploy and manage the switches. The platform supports remote and mobile operations, so there is no need for IT staff to go on-site.
It can also proactively discover and solve problems to reduce network risks. Most importantly, it leverages big data and cloud architecture for future expansion.

Results
This solution utilized Ruijie 10G enterprise switches, 1G PoE switches, 40G/10G DAC cables, and 10G optical modules to build a stable and reliable 10G campus wired network.
The Ruijie Cloud management platform was integrated to streamline the management of three network partitions. With real-time technical support, network problem troubleshooting, and professional solution suggestions, NS helped customers achieve the goal of upgrading the 1G network to 10G and ensuring the end-customer experience.
To avoid deployment failure, NS remotely built a real scenario for customers to verify the switches’ functions through POC testing. Within 20 minutes, they confirmed how many modules and how long high-speed cables were needed to connect the switches, and checked the rationality of the purchase list.
