Huawei AirEngine 5760-51 can operate without a local wireless controller when it is running in Fat or Cloud mode. This guide explains how to identify the current AP mode, why used units may not open a Web interface, and when a Huawei AC is still required.

A Huawei S6730 uplink can remain at 40GE after the 100GE RTU license has been activated. This guide shows how to verify the exact SKU, VRP version, license state, port mode, restart requirement, QSFP28 media and peer configuration before confirming a 100GE link.

Full Wi-Fi signal does not always mean sufficient network capacity. This guide explains five common reasons hotel, café, and retail networks slow down during peak hours, including RF congestion, unsegmented traffic, insufficient PoE power, underperforming AP access links, and congested floor uplinks. It also provides a practical 15-minute checklist for identifying the actual bottleneck before replacing hardware.

Explore three practical PoE and Wi-Fi reference architectures for cafés, retail stores, and small hotels. This guide covers VLAN segmentation, AP capacity planning, PoE budget calculations, switch port sizing, dual-WAN considerations, and 1GbE versus 10GbE fiber uplinks, with real-world engineering experience to help businesses prepare a more reliable and scalable network BOM.

Compare Huawei AirEngine 5773 models by mounting type, electrical or hybrid uplink, PoE input, wired ports and deployment scenario. This guide explains when to choose the 5773-21, 5773-22P, 5773-23H, 5773-23HW, 5773-23WP or 5773-23W.

A model-by-model guide to Huawei AirEngine 5773 PoE requirements, covering 802.3af restrictions, 802.3at recommendations, the 5773-23WP PoE++ exception, and switch power-budget planning.

Cisco's Smart Licensing Using Policy (SLUP) frequently causes confusion during enterprise procurement. Will your Catalyst 9200 stop forwarding traffic if you don't renew your subscription? In this independent engineering breakdown, CCIE David Lorame details the exact perpetual capabilities of the underlying Network Essentials and Network Advantage tiers. Discover the truth behind "OSPF for Routed Access" limits, why Virtual Network and BGP capabilities are heavily restricted by physical PIDs (C9200L vs. C9200CX), and what entitlements are actually removed when a software subscription lapses.

When procuring access switches in 2026, the financial delta between SMB and Enterprise hardware goes far beyond datasheet MSRPs. In this independent TCO analysis based on real-world channel observations, CCIE David Lorame breaks down why the Catalyst 9200L carries approximately 2.5x to 3.5x the TCO over a 5-year lifecycle due to subscription bundling and SmartNet OpEx. Discover the architectural realities of fixed vs. modular power supplies, why pairing a Catalyst 1300 with an external ATS is an engineering fallacy, and how to choose the right platform for your SLA requirements.

Securing the edge with DHCP Snooping and Dynamic ARP Inspection (DAI) is critical, but recent lab validations on Catalyst 1300 firmware 4.1.3.36 reveal a specific protocol interoperability friction. When certain SIP endpoints aggressively issue ARP probes before the switch commits its DHCP binding database, DAI drops the packets, causing unpredictable DHCPDECLINE behaviors. In this independent lab debugging report, CCIE David Lorame breaks down the Wireshark PCAP evidence, CLI drop counters, and the verified MAC-based ARP ACL workaround needed to stabilize your telephony provisioning.

The Cisco Catalyst 1300 is a highly capable "Layer 3 Lite" switch, but what actually happens when sustained RIPv2 injection pushes it past its hardware routing scale? In this technical field report, CCIE David Lorame steps away from theoretical datasheets to share lab-validated observations of Hardware FIB exhaustion. Discover why the platform exhibits chaotic failure ambiguity across firmware trains, including silent internal drops, erratic ICMP delays, and the dangerous absence of explicit exhaustion syslogs.
