Cisco FMC Zero-Day is Actively Exploited
On July 29, Cisco disclosed that CVE-2026-20316, a static-credential vulnerability in Secure Firewall Management Center Software, had been exploited in active attacks. The built-in credentials can allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to access information available to a low-privilege account.
Cisco released hot fixes for supported affected releases and stated that no workaround fully addresses the vulnerability. CISA added the flaw to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on the same day. Cisco Introduces Wireless 9177 for Outdoor Wi-Fi 7
On July 30, Cisco announced the Wireless 9177 Series for outdoor and mission-critical wireless deployments. The platform combines tri-band Wi-Fi 7, 4x4 radios across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz, automated frequency coordination and multi-link operation.
The series also integrates Cisco Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul for low-latency roaming and supports copper or fiber uplinks. On July 27, Cisco confirmed general availability of Resilient Infrastructure Services through Cisco Support Standard and higher tiers. The service combines exposure assessment, modernization guidance and continuous defense, with Cisco IQ providing device and lifecycle insights.
Cisco also highlighted Quantum Safe Infrastructure assessments, peer benchmarking and controlled availability of an on-premises Cisco IQ deployment for air-gapped environments. Cisco Details Scale-Across Ethernet Fabrics for Distributed AI

Cisco identified distance, oversubscription, buffering and optical reach as the main design variables.
