ISR4321-AX/K9 Routers Overview
The ISR4321-AX/K9 Intelligent WAN Bundle combines security features, application experience, and Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) into one unified platform. This bundle optimizes network traffic across the "best" link based on applications, monitoring network conditions to deliver the best possible performance. With the ISR4321-AX/K9, you gain full control over application performance, bandwidth usage, data privacy, and the availability of your WAN links—essential for branches managing larger volumes of mission-critical business. The router comes with an IP Base image, Security, and AppX licensing for 200 TCP connection resources for ISR WAAS optimization. It includes 4 GB of DRAM and 4 GB flash memory, with 50 Mbps WAN bandwidth by default. To enable the ISR WAAS service, additional memory, flash, and hard drive updates are required. Note that the vWAAS service is not available on this platform. The ISR4321-AX/K9 features 2 onboard WAN or LAN 10/100/1000 ports, 2 RJ-45-based ports, and 1 SFP-based port, with 2 NIM (Network Interface Modules) slots and 1 onboard ISC slot for further expansion. It also supports external AC and PoE power supply options and is rack-mountable with a 1RU form factor.
