Overview

The NS LC APC to FC APC Simplex Single Mode Fiber Patch Cable is a high-performance OS2 interconnect designed for long-distance, point-to-point links across entrance facilities, telecommunications rooms, data centers, and lab or test environments. With an LC APC connector on one end and an FC APC connector on the other, this cable provides a reliable interface between LC-based switches, routers or modules and FC-based transport shelves, amplifiers, or test equipment that require secure, threaded connections.

Built using bend-insensitive G.657.A1 fiber and a 2.0mm riser-rated (OFNR) tight-buffered jacket, this simplex patch cable delivers low insertion loss, ultra-high return loss, and excellent mechanical durability. The APC 8° angled polish on both ends helps to minimize back reflections, making this cable particularly suitable for long-distance OS2 applications—up to 10 km at 1310 nm or up to 40 km at 1550 nm—while reduced attenuation under bending and twisting improves installation flexibility and maintenance efficiency.

Frequently Questions and Answers

Q1. What is an LC fiber patch cable?

A: An LC fiber patch cable is a fiber optic cable terminated with LC connectors, commonly used to connect optical transceivers, switches, routers, and patch panels in fiber networks.

Q2. What connector types are available for your fiber patch cables?

A: Our fiber patch cables are available in LC-LC, LC-SC, SC-SC, LC-FC, SC-FC, FC-FC, and ST-ST configurations to support different network devices and interfaces.

Q3. What is the difference between LC, SC, FC, and ST connectors?

A: LC connectors are compact and commonly used in high-density environments, SC connectors are push-pull and widely used in enterprise networks, FC connectors use screw-on coupling for secure connections, and ST connectors use a bayonet-style coupling.

Q4. What fiber types are supported by these patch cables?

A: These patch cables are available in both single-mode and multimode fiber types to support different transmission distances and applications.

Q5. What is the difference between single-mode and multimode fiber patch cables?

A: Single-mode fiber supports longer transmission distances and higher bandwidth, while multimode fiber is typically used for shorter distances within data centers and buildings.

Q6. What cable jacket types are available?

A: Our fiber patch cables are available with LSZH and OFNR jackets to meet different safety and installation requirements.

Q7. What is the difference between LSZH and OFNR jackets?

A: LSZH jackets produce low smoke and zero halogen when burned, making them suitable for enclosed spaces, while OFNR jackets are riser-rated and designed for vertical installations between floors.

Q8. What cable lengths are available for fiber patch cables?

A: Fiber patch cables are available in a wide range of standard lengths, and custom lengths can be provided upon request.

Q9. What is a uniboot fiber patch cable?

A: A uniboot fiber patch cable combines two fibers into a single jacket, reducing cable bulk and improving airflow in high-density cabling environments.

Q10. What are the advantages of uniboot fiber patch cables?

A: Uniboot cables offer higher density, better cable management, improved airflow, and easier polarity management compared to standard dual-jacket cables.

Q11. Do you offer standard (non-uniboot) fiber patch cables?

A: Yes. Both uniboot and standard dual-jacket fiber patch cables are available to meet different installation preferences.

Q12. Are these fiber patch cables compatible with Cisco, Juniper, and HPE equipment?

A: Yes. These fiber patch cables are fully compatible with Cisco, Juniper, HPE, and other major networking brands.
