With one 16-fiber MPO-16 APC (Female) trunk breaking out to two 8-fiber MPO-8 APC (Female) legs, this assembly supports 16-fiber parallel optics in a compact, factory-terminated form factor that simplifies high-speed backbone design. The MPO-16 APC end features an 8-degree angled polish to deflect internal back reflections away from the transceiver, helping preserve signal integrity at very high line rates.
Built with bend-insensitive OM4 50/125 μm multimode fiber and a riser-rated OFNR jacket, this crossover breakout cable is purpose-built for linking two 400G QSFP-DD/OSFP multimode transceivers to a single 800G QSFP-DD optics port in high-speed fiber links. Compared with deploying separate breakout cassettes, MPO-based breakout cables reduce the number of mated interfaces, resulting in lower overall insertion loss, reduced latency, and lower material and installation costs—ideal for hyperscale and large enterprise data centers.
