Overview
The NSComm 800G QSFP-DD Active Electrical Cable (AEC) is a high-performance copper interconnect for 800G PAM4 short-to-medium reach links, designed with retimer chips at both ends to deliver full signal integrity. Compared with passive copper, AEC is built to reduce PAM4 attenuation and data errors, enabling more reliable 800G connectivity for in-rack and adjacent-rack deployments without the cost and complexity of optics.
Since NVIDIA Ethernet is the mainstream platform in many AI data centers, NSComm supports NVIDIA (ETH) coding options on the product page-recommended for NVIDIA-based switching/NIC environments-while still offering selectable coding for broader multi-vendor use when needed.
This AEC supports a retimed 800GAUI-8 electrical interface (8¡Á106.25G PAM4) for stable 800G operation, with max power consumption 12W per end and a 36.5mm minimum bend radius for clean routing in dense racks. It is compliant with QSFP-DD MSA, IEEE 802.3ck, and CMIS 5.0.
