Overview
The NSComm 400G QSFP112 Active Electrical Cable (AEC) is a high-performance copper interconnect designed for 400G PAM4 short-reach links, using retimer chips at both ends to maintain signal integrity. Compared with passive copper, AEC is built to overcome PAM4 signal loss and reduce data errors, enabling longer, more stable copper links in modern data centers and AI/HPC racks.
Because NVIDIA InfiniBand and NVIDIA-based AI infrastructure are mainstream in today's market, this AEC is optimized for NVIDIA (IB) environments (choose the NVIDIA option on the product page), while still supporting vendor coding options for broader use when required. It features a built-in Marvell chip with up to 8W per end power consumption and supports the retimed 400GAUI-4 electrical interface (4100G PAM4). It is compliant with QSFP112 MSA, IEEE 802.3ck 400GBase-CR4, and CMIS 5.0.
