The NSComm MPO 12F to 2xMPO 4F APC low loss breakout cable is a high-density single mode fanout solution designed for next-generation 400G/800G data center architectures. With one 12-fiber MPO APC (Female) trunk breaking out to two 4-fiber MPO APC (Female) legs, this assembly provides a 4-channel-to-two 2-channel splitter design that uses 8 active fibers for transmission and 4 inactive fibers as added strength members. The APC endfaces feature an 8-degree polish to deflect back reflections away from sensitive receivers, helping to preserve signal quality in demanding OS2 links.
Engineered with bend-insensitive G.657.A1 glass and a riser-rated OFNR jacket, this MPO breakout cable is ideal for switch-to-switch and switch-to-server fanout scenarios in high-density racks. When deployed in pairs, two MPO-12 to 2x MPO-4 APC breakout cables can link an 800G twin-port OSFP InfiniBand transceiver to four 400G OSFP/QSFP112 transceivers, enabling efficient 1×800G-to-4×400G fanout in high-speed parallel single mode links. When used with 400G transceivers, only two channels are activated per leg, effectively creating 200G links and providing a flexible, cost-effective alternative to separate breakout cassettes with lower overall insertion loss.
